Clay Butler

My name is Clay Butler. Music has been my life and my livelihood for almost 20 years. I’ve been blessed to be able to start a full-time music and audio production business while in my twenties, which enabled me to work with acts as notable as John Mayer, John Waller, Atlanta Rhythm Section, and After Edmund. I was invited by West Georgia Technical College to help develop and implement their Recording Studio Technology program as lead instructor. I can also say that I helped to found a Christian rock band that later went on to be nominated for both a Grammy award and a Dove award. However, my real passion is using those experiences to help others. I’m the music director for a vibrant and growing church, and I have a deep calling to serve in the music ministry.

So, I designed the Practical Music Ministry blog to help anyone in the music ministry to reach their fullest potential. Whether it’s team building, personal enrichment, practical solutions, or education, we want to help you grow and succeed–not just for you, but for the furthering of God’s Kingdom.

Our mission at Practical Music Ministry is to supply valuable information and resources for music ministers, worship leaders, church musicians, multimedia teams, sound techs, praise bands and Christian entertainers. We also want this to be a place where you can share advice, insight and encouragement to others.
